I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and I work with couples,
individuals, and families with teens and pre-teens.
More detailed information about my therapeutic work is available by
clicking on the tabs to the left. My practice, on Seattle's
Eastside, is easily accessible from
Bellevue, Kirkland,
Mercer Island, and Redmond.
Trained in systems therapy, I always consider how clients impact, and are
impacted by, their relationships. Sometimes I may encourage a client to invite
key people from his/her family to participate in the therapy. My approach is
problem-centered, in that I help my clients identify a problem they hope to
solve, and I draw from a range of therapeutic methods to approach that problem
in the most efficient way. My therapeutic style is both caring and structured.
I
earned a BA in psychology from Harvard University and an MS in marriage and
family therapy from Northwestern University. I am a licensed marriage and family
therapist in the state of Washington and a clinical member of the
WAMFT and
AAMFT. In addition to my
clinical work, I serve on the WAMFT board of directors. I am co-authoring a book
on "Open Nesting", the phenomenon of adult children moving back in with their
parents. I was recently involved in a University of Washington research study
on children's recurrent
abdominal pain at Children's Hospital, as well as several ethnographic
research projects at Microsoft. |
